What is yoga? 

Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word 'yaj' which means unity or oneness. Spiritually, yoga is the union of soul and whole cosmos, personal awareness is a combination of universal  awareness but physically, yoga is about balancing the body, mind, and emotions.

Yoga inhibits the mind's instincts (changes in the mind). Yoga is balance. This balance can be maintained by practicing asanas, pranayama, posture, meditation, purification, etc. Yoga practices were created primarily to purify the body and gain spiritual benefits. But now it is being used to cure diseases and prevent diseases.

Benefits of Yoga Practice

- Makes body and mind healthy and energetic. It calms anger, frustration, animosity etc.

- Keeps free from diseases 

- Eliminates any diseases and makes them healthy again.

- Keeps away stress and stress related diseases.

-Increases the level of awareness.

Rules to follow while practicing yoga

Clothing: Loose, soft and cotton clothes should be worn.
Exercise time: It is best to do it from dawn to the first hour of sunrise or around sunset.

Preparation: Before doing asanas, light exercises should be done to loosen the joints.

Sequence of practice: First you have to practice asanas and then you have to practice pranayama. if we have no time, first pranayama and only asanas should be practiced.

Eating: Eat light and vegetarian. Don't eat too many spicy, oily foods, fish, meat and eggs.
